Senior QA / Software Tester
- Hybrid
- Bucharest
- Full-time
We work on national IT systems where a calculation error is not just a bug — it affects real data belonging to real people. We are looking for a Senior QA / Software Tester who wants to genuinely understand how a system works, not merely tick off tests.
What you will do
Your role is to ensure the quality and stability of a complex system, with interdependent flows, elaborate calculations and data versioning, using manual testing, automation and AI tools.
- Test end-to-end flows, including the data exchanges between components, and follow how a change propagates into the other modules.
- Check everything that matters: the interface, the calculations, the reports, the data in the database, the change history and the behaviour of different versions of a record.
- Prepare test data, investigate results and document defects clearly, with reproduction steps and evidence.
- Ask the right questions: identify what information you are missing and ask the team for clarification on business rules, data, integrations and expected results.
- Plan and run integration and regression tests, choose the right scenarios for automation and contribute to building and maintaining them.
- Improve the process and explore how AI tools can remove repetitive work — always verifying what they produce.
What you need
- Experience in manual and automated testing of complex applications, including integration and regression tests
- Experience designing test scenarios and identifying edge cases and risks
- Hands-on automation experience with Playwright
- Working knowledge of Java and JavaScript
- The ability to organise your own testing independently and to get the information you need from the team
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and curiosity about business rules
- Openness to using AI tools in day-to-day work
Nice to have
- Experience in performance and load testing
- Experience testing systems with complex calculation rules, stateful flows and data versioning
- Hands-on experience with SQL and PL/SQL for verifying data and calculations and investigating issues
What we offer
- A motivating salary package, above the market average
- Access to AI tools
- Signal Iduna medical subscription
- Bookster subscription
- Fruit, drinks and snacks at the office
- A relaxation area (PS5, ping-pong, massage chair)
